The plan was to keep operations local, and he was the obvious choice for General Manager: "It was what I’d been working my whole career for. Now I could take my ideas, things that I know work, and implement them."

Kendall recalls feeling “uncertainty, shock, and fear of the unknown” upon learning Wood was joining Midway. But the transition went smoother than he could have imagined. As the new General Manager, he was able to confidently deliver a message to the community: “We’re still here. While Travis had always aspired to manage his own operation, he found a different path when ColdTech joined Midway and made him General Manager: “Now that I see business operations, I’m glad I didn’t start my own business.
